About this class

Churros are the quintessential Spanish crullers that are very popular in several parts of the world, including Europe, Latin America, and the Philippines. This delicious fried dough, whose preparation is similar to that of choux pastry, can either be thin and knotted or long and thick. Churros are usually eaten for breakfast, dipped in hot chocolate, dulce de leche, or café con leche (coffee with cream), and often sprinkled with or rolled in cinnamon sugar. Our recipe was born out of our frustration of not being able to find really good, authentic Spanish churros in any of the restaurants in Metro Manila. We wanted churros that are as exquisite as those sold in the streets of Madrid…with a crisp exterior and a soft, chewy interior. And so, we decided to recreate the recipe ourselves. After months of testing and tasting, our hard work and diligence finally paid off! We are now ready to share with you THE DEFINITIVE CHURROS CON CHOCOLATE recipe! One of our testers has this to say… “I have tried so many churros from so many different places, including those from famous chefs, but none comes close to the authenticity and perfection of Chef Joey Prats’ version. He has again set the bar for this iconic recipe. One bite will keep you coming back for more!” – Frank A.
