Learn from Stephanie Cueva at The Bailiwick Academy.
Born and raised in Bacolod and Sagay cities in the province of Negros Occidental, Stephanie Cueva-Marjon was surrounded with flavorful cuisine and big family gatherings that featured just about any reason for almost weekly celebrations that centered around good food, fostering in her a deep love and appreciation for heirloom dishes. From a young age, Steph found joy in experimenting in the kitchen, infusing everyday dishes with her own unique twist. Despite this early affinity for food, her path initially led her to pursue a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of the Philippines-Diliman, followed by a career in TV and Print media. However, an experience awaited her in the bustling kitchen of a Chinese fast food restaurant abroad. The relentless pace and demanding labor opened her eyes to the captivating world of food preparation. Despite the long hours and back breaking work, she sensed an undeniable pull towards the food industry. Her fascination with cake decorating soon blossomed, prompting her to seek mentorship from renowned cake decorators, refining her skills and nurturing her creativity. Additionally, she sought to further enhance her skills by completing a double program in Culinary Arts and Baking and Pastry before also training under a prominent Chef in her home province. Today, Steph designs exquisite cakes for a discerning clientele, while moonlighting as a freelance food writer, food stylist, and recipe developer. Her love for creating authentic and unique flavors drives her dreams and keeps her excited about every new food adventure. Beyond her culinary pursuits, Chef Steph is a mother to three daughters, a certified Tarot Reader, an avid bookworm, and is always trying to find time to simply relax and unwind.
